Description

Razor wire is a new type of high-strength security mesh. It’s made by combining sharp blade-like metal strips with steel wire, giving it extreme deterrence and protective capabilities. It offers a much higher level of security than traditional barbed wire and is widely used in locations that require high-strength security.

Basic Structure and Features

  • Basic Structure: Razor wire consists of two parts: the core line wire (typically hot-dip galvanized steel or stainless steel, which provides strength and support) and the sharp razor blades. The blades are stamped from high-strength steel plates into a jagged or razor shape and are mechanically crimped or welded onto the line wire to form a helical or straight mesh structure.
  • High Deterrence: The blades are sharp and dense, capable of causing serious cuts to anyone attempting to climb or cross, creating a powerful physical and psychological deterrent that effectively prevents unauthorized entry.
  • Corrosion-Resistant and Durable: The line wire and razor blades are often treated with hot-dip galvanization, powder coating, or made from stainless steel, which gives them excellent resistance to acids, alkalis, and aging. This makes razor wire suitable for long-term use in harsh outdoor environments like humid, high-temperature, or coastal areas, with a service life of 10-20 years.
  • Flexible Installation: Razor wire can be processed into coils (for easy transport and large-area coverage) or flat sheets (for localized protection). It can be installed with posts and brackets, allowing for flexible adaptation to various terrains.

Application Scenarios

Due to its superior protective performance, razor wire is widely used in the following high-security locations:

  • Military & Security: Prisons, military bases, border fences, and government facilities.
  • Industrial & Transportation: Airports, ports, factories, and railways.
  • Private Property: Residential areas, villas, farms, and orchards.
